สวัสดีทุกคน! (Hello Everyone!)
I'm here in Chiang Mai, comfortable and safe. The leader of my DTS, Bruce Geske, picked me up from the airport last night right away. So I was able to go to his house, eat a piece of pizza (not what I was expecting to be my first meal), and crashed on the floor of his daughter's room. I will be staying at Bruce's house with his wife and 8 adorable kids for the next couple of nights, because we need to stay in town to pick up the other westerners before we go to the base which is about 45 minutes outside of Chiang Mai. They are a very hospitible family and I'm very well taken care of here.
For those of you who were praying that I'd have another western girl in my DTS that I can fellowship with, God has answered our prayer! 5 other western girls will be coming to the DTS, and all of them are American! It's really nice to have other people from the same country in my group so we can support each other through culture shock and homesickness. I am so excited to meet these young ladies as they start to fly in today and tomorrow. There are also 3 western guys coming. A German, Australian, and either a British or American (I can't remember which!) Be praying that we all form good friendships quickly including those with the 11 Thais that will also be in our group.
Also, I have a prayer request. I've woken up this morning with what feels like a throat cold. Please be praying for healing and good rest.
I hope all of you are doing well and I thank you for all of your prayers and support! I will post again once school starts next week.
Blessings,
Hanna
